Hydro-morphological investigations of Neeru watershed using DEM and geospatial techniques

Morphometric analysis is very popular among the hydro-geomorphological investigation of river basins that deals with linear, areal, shape and landscape aspects catchment. Neeru watershed, a left-bank tributary Chenab River (Doda, Jammu Kashmir, India). Carto-DEM, Sentinel-2B multispectral satellite image Topographical maps taken into account for extracting computing watershed’s various parameters adopting geospatial techniques. This northern aligned watershed has length, width, perimeter 65 km, 22.4 106.03 respectively, covers 415.19 sq. km area. It 5th stream order lower-order streams predominating. The drainage density 0.81 km/km2 indicates it highly permeable thus increased subterranean water storage capacity. bifurcation ratio varies from 2 to 4.74, mean 3.67, demonstrating strong structural control over development. study area's elongation (0.67) an elongated high relief, steep slope, sediment load discharge, susceptible soil erosion. assessment role techniques in quick appraisal ecological indicators they will be helpful decision makers managing natural resource, planning, management.
